Signing Off

ADailyDoodle was a fun project that I learned a lot from the year+ that I did it. I would like to thank all of its followers, and fans for their support and appreciation for what I was doing. I will leave this blog as a small web memorial to my endeavor. Feel free to look back through the posts. Who knows, maybe someday I will re-visit this project and attempt another year, but as for now I have learned what I wanted and more from this project and am now focusing on other things. Thanks again! and may all your days be great! (even without a doodle to illustrate them!)

Mr. Nose

Last Thursday with a bunch of co-workers to a sushi restaurant. I started doing some doodles on the paper-top table-cloth after we were done eating and one of my doodles sparked this character from a friend and coworker on the other side of the table. Scott thought one of my doodles looked like a nose standing on its nose hair- and he drew the character he saw (which is that sketch in the corner ) - I thought it was a rad character and snapped a picture with my cell phone to play around with later- and thus Mr. Nose was born. :)

Top Hat Lizard

Another random Photoshop doodle- basically I just really like the fluidity of the pressure brush! It is a lot of fun to draw with! Have a great Wednesday

Angry Squib Captains Head

I drew this up in Photoshop- at first it was just black but I decided the last few posts didnt have enough color so I added some to this. I did not really want to color it in, so I just colored the lines. A pretty rad Pirate head doodle is the result- have a good Tuesday!

Weird Creature Profile

I sat down to do a doodle and just started scribbling. This is what I ended up with... pretty ugly. I love to draw profiles and make up strange creatures. This one def. is not among the cutest I have ever drawn. He looks like a mix of a man, a frog, and a Pachycephalosaurus... (The head butting dinosaurs... I had to google it) I was not going to post it because he is so ugly but it is late and I have nothing else- so have a great Monday

Pretty similar to yesterdays ninja- I thought they were both rad though so I decided to put em both on. I was dinking around in Photoshop with it a little too but just for a couple minutes with my mouse- Have a good Saturday!

Yikes! Is it January 14th already?!? Not long ago I talk about wanting to get with the program and start doing daily posts again and then I trip and fall on my stinking face! :) I had a stroke of bad-luck during the Holiday... I got Bronchitis and was a sick duck for practically the whole break. All of my plans of creating awesome arts and working on games was foiled and instead I just played games, coughed, and slept. I did not even get to finish my Christmas doodle! New Years Eve I was in bed for the night at 9:30... how lame am I? I obviously cant blame not doodling until now all on being sick though... I have something to admit to you all. I have an addiction. Being sick made it worse... no doubt- it also helped me realize how destructive this addiction can be! My addiction is Video Games! My name is Marcus Hadlock and I am a video-game-a-holic! There, I said it! my wife would say "I TOLD YOU SO!" and feel triumphant! I have finally realized after feeling like a lump on the bottom of a swamp looking at how UN-CREATIVE I have been the past couple of weeks... I let a lot of opportunities fade away... and probably lost some trust and confidence in some people who expected me to perform and I didn't. I realize this now and I am going to be better! Awesome even! I am not going to stop playing video games though... why would I? I am just going to limit myself! Be responsible and stuff...

Ok enough ranting... This post is a ninja I drew up on paper during a meeting. I doodle on paper all of the time- I bet I could easily post for missed days with just the doodles on one note-pad on my desk. Instead of trying to do that though, I will just make sure to stay motivated and be better moving forward. I hope all of those who once watched me and checked my blog from time to time haven't un-bookmarked and forgotten about me! I hope to win all of your trust back! The time of ADailyDoodle is here once again! The king has returned! (I recently re-watched "The Lion King" With my daughter...) Have a great Friday!

Chi-Fu the Running Backpacker

This started out as a bunch of random scribbles all over... I then started to doodle and connect the lines and this is what I ended up with. I wish I saved all of the scribble lines so you could all see what a chaotic mess it was that inspired this odd doodle :) I wasn't thinking! I used to do a lot of these creative practices in sketch books, make a scribble and then draw a face or something out of it. Have a good Wednesday

Little Bug

I drew this bug for Todays doodle... I drew it with the mouse and in about 2 minutes just to get something up for today :) Not very cute but he makes good lasagna!

Dreamy Doodle

Pixel Monster

This little guy may not look like much.... but he took longer than a lot of my other doodles have! Something I have been intrigued with lately is Pixel art. I drew this little guy all zoomed in pixel by pixel until he looked like a monster. It takes a lot of patience as you can probably imagine! Makes you respect the old 8-bit artists from the NES days a whole lot more. Have a great Friday!
